The term 'temporary believers' stuck out to me when we collectively read paragraph 1 of Chapter 18 last Sunday. There was a temptation to be a little fearful, but I had to stand on Philippians 1:6 that He that began a good work in you will perform it to the day of Jesus Christ. As I thought on the term more, I realized that the word 'temporary,' just like the word 'elect,' is from God's perspective, not ours. Many of us who accept Christ and are baptized as minors, fall away, only to drawn back to the fold. Though temporary at first, they are still elected and brought back.
