Meditation Mondays: Justice is Coming
Lamentations 3:34-36: "To crush underfoot all the prisoners of the earth, to deny a man justice in the presence of the Most High, to subvert a man in his lawsuit, the Lord does not approve."
Meditation:
Although the Lord is using Babylon to judge Jerusalem it doesn't mean that the Lord approves of the wickedness of Babylon. This may seem like a tension for our feeble minds, but this is not a tension for the Lord. The Lord despises those who oppress. The Lord despises those who deny men justice here on earth. Think even of our own government in the United States. Romans 13 teaches us that government is to be a 'terror' to bad conduct. The government should promote morality and be a terror to evil doers. However, the government fails miserably in this and thus does not fulfill the role God designed for them and He despises it. We can't just point fingers though, we ourselves are to blame too. Are we a just people? Are our local churches advocated of God's Law and God's justice? One thing is certain, justice will come. And when it does, may we be found in Christ.
