Another Tomlinson Family Update
Update
First, I wanted to say a special thank you to each of you that faithfully read this blog. Honestly, I wasn't quite sure how engaged folks would be with it. My family has been tremendously encouraged by your reception of what I think and write.
With that said, I wanted to give you an update on my family's stage of life.
My family and I are used to keeping a pretty fast pace. We aren't afraid of quick paces and we thank the Lord for the work and ministry He provides to us. Now, this particular season is a pace we've yet to experience and so I am writing to (a) ask for your prayers on some very specific things and (b) let you know that I must take a brief (Lord willing) hiatus from blogging every week on this site. My prayer requests will hopefully shed light on why that is.
Prayer Requests
(a) My wife and I along with some great brothers and sisters in our local church are in the process of helping another local church in our area be revitalized. This local church will become a campus of the church I've served in for 13/14 years. I will be serving as the preaching pastor for this local church along with counseling and shepherding the congregation. The name of this local church is called Coastal Deer Park. Please keep our family and this church in your prayers.
(b) I will continue to oversee the counseling and discipleship ministries of Coastal Community Church globally and this takes a significant amount of my time and effort. Pray for fellow co-laborers that have a passion for sound doctrine, biblical counseling, and teaching to come alongside me on a volunteer basis to help with the ministry load.
(c) I have recently undertaken a large writing project and all my writing energies and focus must go toward this project. I cannot speak to the specifics of the project yet, but I would greatly appreciate your prayers in regard to time management and effectiveness. Writing well is hard and tedious work, but I am excited about the project and Brayden is very supportive of it and me. I will provide more details when I can.
(d) Most importantly, pray for my family as we adjust to this new chapter in our lives. Our home pace is quick with two awesome, energetic boys. Pray that Brayden and I will continue to shepherd well. Pray that I lead them in the gospel faithfully.
Thank You
Again, a big thank you to those of you who read faithfully. I will be back to writing on this blog as soon as possible. In the meantime, I have written around 200 articles on this website. Please explore and remind yourselves of the ground we've covered together. Also, I have written extensively on Servants of Grace. So much so, that Dave has given me my own author page. Check it out, because you probably haven't read all I've written there.
